Founded in 2019 by Wanda Swan and Dr. Raphael Coleman, a nationally-recognized college health professional and thought leader in cultivating equity-minded health promotion strategies, Practademics is a Georgia-based consulting and training company that works with organizations to cultivate socially-just practices that grow and extend their capacity to better create and sustain an anti-racist working environment. Specifically, the company grounds its work in the belief that education is key to unravelling all forms oppression; present and future social justice work must be grounded in the history of movements toward liberation; and that holistic well-being includes an unapologetic affirmation of one’s identities. Through resistance-centered individual and organizational capacity building and policies and systems consultations, Practademics co-creates an environment that is socially just and safe for individuals of historically-minoritized identities.
